Community commitment

"Pupils accept responsibility for their own actions and show an appreciation of how these can affect others.  Displays of eco-friendly initiatives encourage all members of the community to recognise their moral responsibility for the environment , whilst significant fund-raising for both national and international charities enables pupils to respond to the needs of a variety of worthy causes." Independent Schools Inspectorate Inspection Report 2013

As a school Loyola sees its own community as a strength and seeks to play an active part in the wider community.

We work with other schools in both the independent and state sectors through membership of organisations such as the Independent Association of Preparatory Schools (IAPS) and the Catholic Independent Schools Conference (CISC) on shared initiatives. We also make regular contributions to the liturgies of local parishes – and even, on occasion, Cathedrals.

We have an annual shared Remembrance Day Service with nearby St John’s CE Primary School, and our schola also contributes to joint choral events with Chigwell and Forest Schools.

We take part in inter-schools competitions on a full range of subjects, which provide opportunities for teams of pupils, as well as individuals.

We have a number of community partners with whom we take part in events, raise money and who provide extra-curricular support to the school. These include:

We also run a number of sponsored events and fundraisers throughout the year on behalf of individual pupils or classes. These events raise money for local, national and international charities.
